West 2nd Street Retreat

A bright, single-level modern ranch in Port Clinton — a king suite, a backyard fire pit, and five minutes to the Lake Erie beach and the island ferry.

  • Sleeps 6
  • 3 bedrooms
  • 4 beds
  • 2 baths
  • Beach 5 min

About this space

Built in 2023, this single-level ranch is a fresh, easy base for a Lake Erie getaway. Everything's on one floor once you're inside, the rooms are bright and open, and you're only about five minutes from the beach, the island ferry, and downtown Port Clinton.

Three bedrooms sleep six. The primary is a true king suite with its own bathroom — a walk-in shower and double vanities. A second bedroom has a queen, and the third has a full bed plus a full-sized trundle that pulls out for two more, with a second full bathroom right alongside. The open kitchen, dining, and living area centres on a large sectional and a smart TV, and there is a dedicated laundry room so you can pack light.

Outside, a covered front patio has a propane grill, and the backyard fire pit has seating for six — the spot to land after a day on the water. There's room to park two or three vehicles plus a boat or trailer, so bring the gear. Lakeview Park Beach, the Jet Express ferry to Put-in-Bay, and the public boat launch are each about five minutes away, and Cedar Point is roughly thirty.

Good to know

Single level, with entry steps

The home is all on one floor once you are inside, but there are a few steps up to the front entrance — worth knowing if anyone in your group has trouble with stairs.

A note for light sleepers

There is an active rail line near the property, and a train may pass during the night. Most guests sleep right through it; if you are a light sleeper, a set of earplugs is a good idea.

A quiet backyard

The backyard borders a cemetery, which means no neighbours on that side and a genuinely quiet, private outdoor space — several guests have mentioned how peaceful it is.

Seasonal mayflies

Like most of the Lake Erie shore, the area sees harmless seasonal mayflies for a few weeks in late spring and early summer. They do not bite and are short-lived.

Parking & boats

The driveway fits two to three vehicles plus a boat or trailer — no garage. There is a doorbell camera at the front entrance for security.

  • Really nice little house, perfect for 4 of us (1 couple and 2 singles). Easy walking distance to downtown Port Clinton but in a quiet neighborhood, nice off-street parking. Very clean and comfortable, all new appliances etc, appreciated being able to do some laundry. AC worked great too! We will definitely consider this property again on future trips (we visit the area every summer). Thanks!
