About this space

Fully renovated in 2021–2022 and updated since, this bright two-bedroom cottage has the kind of effortless comfort that makes guests extend their stay. Vinyl floors, high vaulted ceilings, and an exposed beam give it a beachy, airy feel, with the thoughtful details guests notice — quality towels and pillows, and a welcome guide full of local recommendations.

The fully stocked kitchen has everything you need to cook in, with quality appliances, counter-bar seating, and plenty of prep space; K-Cups, creamer, and sugar are provided so the first morning is easy. Out back, fire up the grill or the wood-burning fire pit and settle in for the evening. There’s an in-unit washer and dryer, fast Wi-Fi, and on-demand hot water.

It sleeps up to five — a queen bedroom, a second bedroom with two twins, and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. Walk about ten minutes to Lake Erie, the lakefront park, and the pier out to the Huron lighthouse; Cedar Point is fifteen minutes away, Kalahari ten. Behind the house there’s room for two vehicles and a full-size boat trailer, so it’s an easy basecamp for a Lake Erie fishing trip.

  • This property was fantastic for our needs. The house was very clean, updated, and more than lived up to our expectations. It is in a great location to be able to walk to attractions. The hosts were very proactive, responsive, and helpful throughout the entire process.

  • We had a wonderful time at the Stowe Away. Centrally located to the lake. Quiet neighborhood. Walkable to parks, restaurants, and lake front. This is ideal for families with young children! Lots to do! If we are back in the area, we’re booking Brett and Jessica’s wonderful spot every time! Thank you! ☺️

  • Great little cottage to stay in! Close to a lot of things but far enough away to not be crazy busy around it. Tons of local food joints. Lots of amenities inside so we didn't have to bring anything from home with us. Couple minor issues but the communication with the host was amazing to work with to get them remedied promptly.

  • Nice place tucked into a neighborhood next to a school. It worked great for our small family. Took a while to figure out how to work the HVAC system, but we managed.

Where you'll be

Huron sits right on Lake Erie between Sandusky and the Firelands region, and this home is on one of its most walkable streets. Lakefront Park, the public beach, and the pier out to the Huron lighthouse are all about a 10-minute walk; downtown Huron's restaurants, bars, and the beloved donut shop are about 15 minutes on foot. It's a quiet, residential neighbourhood at the end of a dead-end street, so there's virtually no through traffic in summer.

A car makes the wider Lake Erie shore easy — Cedar Point is about 15 minutes, Kalahari and Great Wolf Lodge about 10, and the Lake Erie island ferries in Sandusky and Port Clinton about 30–35. But the lake itself, the beach, and downtown Huron are all walkable, and there’s room to park a boat and trailer behind the house for a fishing trip.
