Built in 1905, the home keeps its character (roofline-shaped ceilings, an open loft-style overlook on the third floor) while offering all the comfort and space a big group actually needs.
The second floor is the heart of the home: a king suite with a full ensuite bath, walk-in closet, and makeup counter; a dining table that seats 8; a living room with multiple seating areas; a working desk; a full kitchen; a half bath with washer/dryer; and access to the private wraparound balcony with outdoor seating and a grill. Head up to the third floor and you'll find two more bedrooms — one queen, one double — sharing a full bathroom, set along an open walkway that looks down over the second floor.

Historic building, third-floor layout
The third floor is an open loft-style layout with a railed walkway overlooking the second floor — worth knowing if you're traveling with young children. The third-floor bathroom also has a lower ceiling at the sink due to the roofline.
Self check-in
Check-in is completely self check-in with a keypad deadbolt. We send your access details before arrival, and your code expires automatically after checkout. Early check-in may be possible depending on the calendar — just ask.
What we provide
Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in both full bathrooms. Drip coffee maker and Keurig with K-cups, creamer, and sugar. Bedding for the pullout sofa. A Pack n Play is available, though we don't provide a mattress or sheets for it.
Grill and propane
The gas grill sits on the private wraparound balcony. We do our best to keep the tank full — if it runs out, let us know and we'll take care of it.
Heating and cooling
Central heat and air on an Ecobee thermostat you can adjust from the wall. We just ask that you avoid extreme settings and turn it back if you're out for the day.
TVs in Guest Mode
The TVs in the king suite, queen bedroom, and living room are Roku TVs in Guest Mode — sign into your own streaming accounts, and Roku signs you out automatically at checkout.
Checking out
Pop used towels in the bathroom, leave the beds as they are, and empty trash and perishables into the kitchen bin. That's it. Trash bins are beside the garage; pickup is Friday morning.

What's yours during the stay
Guests have full access to the second and third floors of the carriage house, including the kitchen, living areas, all bedrooms, and the wraparound balcony. Parking is available on site for 3+ vehicles, with additional space for a boat and trailer. The owner lives next door, and a portion of the driveway is shared — you'll have clear, dedicated parking, but please be mindful of shared access areas. The balcony walkway that connects toward the owner's home is blocked off and is not part of the guest space, and the backyard is private to the owner. The garage is not available for guest use.

Norwalk is a small, friendly Huron County seat with a well-preserved 19th-century downtown — shops, restaurants, and community events without big-city noise or crowds. It's a calm, small-town neighborhood, not a nightlife district, and a straightforward home base for exploring the wider Lake Erie / Firelands region.
A car is the easiest way to get around this area — Norwalk doesn't have meaningful public transit. On-site parking accommodates 3+ vehicles plus a boat and trailer, so there's no need to worry about street parking.
